Toolik Field Station (TFS) invites applications for a web developer. This full-time position will be based out of the University of Alaska Fairbanks in Fairbanks, Alaska.
The successful candidate will continue the development of the TFS website and their web-based applications through a dashboard, myToolik. The myToolik dashboard has become fundamental to the day-to-day operations of the station to both staff and researchers visiting the station. The apps are database driven so information can be shared between apps as needed. For example, a reservation is tied to a particular project and principal investigator, which in turn is tied to the billing report to generate an invoice. Station users access the system through personal accounts.
TFS is seeking candidates with a degree in computer science, or a related field, with demonstrated strong interpersonal skills, customer service standards, ability to work and lead in a team environment, and technical knowledge of HTML and web publishing in a professional context.
