Session Announcement
"Atmospheric Circulation Variability"
Association of American Geographers Annual Meeting
5-9 April 2005
Denver, Colorado

For further information, please go to:
http://www.aag.org

Abstracts involving the variability of atmospheric circulation at a
variety of spatial and temporal scales are solicited for the AAG Annual
Meeting. One focus is on historical variations and trends of integrated
atmospheric variables such as (but not limited to) the circumpolar
vortex, atmospheric teleconnection patterns (e.g., North Atlantic
Oscillation, Arctic Oscillation, Pacific/North America Pattern), or the
jet stream. An additional focus of this session will be the interaction
of these atmospheric variables with the underlying surface. For
instance, ocean-atmosphere interactions in the tropical and
extratropical Pacific or Atlantic Oceans, or mid- or high-latitude
land/ocean-atmosphere variability involving, e.g., the Arctic
Oscillation and the cryosphere (snow cover, frozen ground, sea ice, or
other cryospheric components).

To participate in this session, please register for the meeting and
submit your abstract online at the AAG website:
http://www.aag.org

When you do so, you will receive a Presenter Identification Number (PIN,
the same as your AAG ID number). Please e-mail your abstract along with
this PIN to one or both of the conveners (below) by Friday, 15 October
2004.
