The 8th World Wilderness Congress is set to meet 30 September - 6
October 2005, with participants from around the globe convening in
Anchorage, Alaska. Congress offerings include a varied program focusing
on wilderness related issues, as well as a cultural program and touring
opportunities of the scenic landscapes surrounding Anchorage.
"Wilderness, Wildlands, and People - A Partnership for the Planet" has
been chosen as the 8WWC theme.

As part of the the World Wilderness Congress the Aldo Leopold Wilderness
Research Institute is hosting the Symposium on Science and Stewardship
to Protect and Sustain Wilderness Values. The symposium will be
structured to enhance international and intercultural communication and
will integrate poster presentations into oral presentation sessions to
increase one-on-one dialogue.

Please submit abstracts (500 words or less) for presentations or panel
discussions by e-mail (preferred), fax, or regular mail by 1 April 2005
