A course entitled "Polar Marine Sedimentary Environments" will be held
6-12 April 2005 at the University of Tromso. Lectures will be presented
in English.
The following topics will be covered:
- Sediments and sedimentary processes on glaciated continental margins
- Palaeoceanography in the Nordic Seas during the last
interglacial-glacial cycle
- Sedimentation in the Arctic Ocean
- Glaciomarine sedimentary environments inferred from seismic
geomorphology
- Modern Arctic benthic foraminfera
- Slope instabilities of high latitude continental margins
- Dating marine sediment records with the radiocarbon method
