The Okanagan Campus of the University of British Columbia will be
opening its doors in Kelowna on 1 September 2005. In anticipation of
this event, Dr. Ian R. Walker is looking for highly qualified potential
graduate students, with an interest in palaeoecological and
palaeoclimatological research. His laboratory's current research
specializes in the reconstruction of palaeoclimate at arctic and alpine
treeline. Other areas of research include palaeolimnological studies of
saline lake ecosystems and human impacts on aquatic systems.

Inquiries from students with diverse backgrounds in the fields of
biology, entomology, earth sciences, geography, and cognate disciplines
are encouraged.
