The Oil Spill Recovery Institute (OSRI) is seeking applications for
three vacant positions on their Science and Technical Committee (STC).
Members of the STC are expected to serve for three years. The
responsibilities of each member include attending STC meetings (two per
year) and teleconferences, participating in debates and articulating
justifications for opinions and comments in support or dissent of an STC
consensus. Members are expected to recuse themselves from opinions where
conflicts of interests occur. OSRI will strive to select new members to
include representation from each of the strategic disciplines of OSRI:
Science: may include physical oceanography, any aspect of biology such
as: ecology, biology, zoology, biological oceanography, fisheries
oceanography, etc., and oil chemistry or toxicology, etc.
Technology: may include oil spill prevention and response practitioners,
management of oil spills, cold climate oil spill engineering and
research, etc.
Socio-economics and education: may include economists, coastal community
education and outreach practitioners, education program coordinators,
etc.
