Graduate Position Available: University of Alaska Fairbanks/
University of Notre Dame

NSF-sponsored graduate stipend available to support a graduate student
seeking a Ph.D. in Biology investigating antifreeze proteins and
overwintering strategies in arctic insects. Field and laboratory studies
will investigate the structure and function of antifreeze proteins and
behavioral adaptations involved in cold tolerance of insects living
along a latitudinal line from Interior to Northern Alaska. Graduate
enrollment will be in the Department of Biology and Wildlife, University
of Alaska Fairbanks, but laboratory training will include work in the
Department of Biological Sciences, University of Notre Dame.
