The University of Alaska Fairbanks invites applications for post
doctoral positions in the areas of geotechnical, permafrost, or arctic
engineering. Successful candidates will be expected to participate in
research related to the impact of changing climate on permafrost and
infrastructure, and to contribute to the development of measures for
mitigating this impact. Areas of research include, but are not limited
too, thermal protection of foundations in areas of discontinuous and
warming permafrost, frost heave and cryoturbation, thermal/mechanical
properties of geotechnical materials, thermal erosion, and sediment
transport.
