The Cold Regions Research and Engineering Lab (CRREL) invites applications for a summer research intern with a focus in geophysics and remote sensing. This fixed-term internship, from May to September 2024, will be located in Fairbanks, Alaska.
The summer research intern will assist with a variety of research projects concentrating on Arctic sea ice dynamics and permafrost remote sensing. Projects include soil moisture detection with Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) and detection and classification of nearshore sea ice. This position will involve a combination of office work and field work in Interior Alaska. The ideal candidate will have experience with GPR processing and field collection, remote sensing image processing with Python, and knowledge of database management.
