Organizers invite applications for the Second QuIESCENT Arctic (Quantifying the Indirect Effect: from Sources to Climate Effects of Natural and Transported aerosol in the Arctic) workshop. This hybrid event will take place 30 March-1 April 2022 during the Arctic Science Summit Week in Tromsø, Norway and online.

The QuIESCENT Arctic initiative aims to build a cross-disciplinary bridge between aerosol and clouds, physicists and chemists, and observations and models. The goal is to foster new collaborations between these different specialisms, provide a pathway to improve the efficiency of the knowledge pipeline from observations through to models and, ultimately, work towards a tangible strategy for improving Arctic aerosol-cloud process understanding and associated climate model uncertainties.

Organizers welcoming participants covering a wide range of expertise (ground-based, aircraft, satellite observations, and modelling). Members of recent Arctic measurement campaigns, such as NETCARE, (AC)3, Arctic Ocean 2018, and MOSAiC and partnering projects, are encouraged to attend and use our platform to share their exciting results and discuss their vision for the use of their findings in numerical models. Similarly, model specialists from key modelling centers are encouraged to attend as their input in these discussions is critical to the success of this mission.

Application deadline: Friday, 14 January 2022
