The Norwegian Polar Institute invites applications for a Science Advisor to help coordinate international effort to enhance collaborative and inter-disciplinary monitoring of the marine climate and environment of the Atlantic Arctic. This full-time, three-year position will be located in Tromsø, Norway.

The successful candidate will work with the EU-funded project, Arctic PASSION, which aims to co-create an integrated pan-Arctic Observing System of Systems (pan-AOSS). This involves integration of observations and variables within the European Arctic, as well as towards collaborating projects in other Arctic regions like the Distributed Biological Observatory (DBO) and the Sustained Coordinated Observations of Arctic Change (CoObs-RNA) in the Pacific Arctic region.

Applicants must hold a PhD in biological, chemical, or physical oceanography, or another relevant field. In addition to a PhD, applicants must have an interest in data handling and integration of observational data, experience from interdisciplinary research cruises, experience with data processing/analysis and publication, and good knowledge of publication of data through open access databases.
