The International Environmental Doctoral School, associated with the Centre for Polar Studies at the University of Silesia in Katowice (IEDS), invites applications for PhD positions in mathematics, Earth and related environmental sciences, and materials engineering. These positions will be located in Katowice, Poland.

Interested applicants can also join an IEDS webinar on IEDS, PhD program and, the application process. The webinar will take place on 20 July 2020. Registration is required at https://www.mssd.us.edu.pl/en/ieds_webinar/.

Available projects and their descriptions are listed on the IEDS webpage. Candidates can also apply for projects where research and doctoral scholarship are funded from research grants.

Contact with project supervisors via email prior to applying is welcome. Email addresses are included in the project descriptions.

Applications must include:

  • Copy of a Master’s degree diploma formally attested with an apostille and translated into Polish or English (if issued in a differed language) by a sworn translator,
  • Curriculum vitae,
  • Average final result received upon the completion of master level studies,
  • Passport photo, and
  • Other documents as specified in the qualification criteria.
