Stockholm University invites applications for a postdoctoral fellow in modeling of rhizosphere priming in permafrost systems. This two-year position will be located in Stockholm, Sweden.

The postdoctoral fellow will drive the further development and application of the PrimeSCale model including main responsibility for the model code (currently in Matlab). This work will be embedded in an international collaboration framework with partners from diverse disciplines such as biogeochemistry, plant physiology, microbial ecology, soil science, geography, and others.

Applicants are expected to hold a Swedish doctoral degree or an equivalent degree from another country, with a PhD in a field such as environmental sciences, Earth system sciences, or biology and completed within the past three years. An older degree may be acceptable under special circumstances, which may involve sick leave, parental leave, clinical attachment, elected positions in trade unions, or similar. Advanced level experience with programming in R, Python, or Matlab is a requirement, as well as in spatial analysis and processing large datasets. Experience with ecosystem modeling is beneficial. Collaborative skills and well-developed proficiency in scientific writing are further required. The candidate is expected to have the interest and ability to work at the interface between diverse disciplines and to integrate observation-based and model-based approaches.
