Umeå University invites applications for a professorship in ecology with a focus on terrestrial ecosystems or organisms. This full-time, permanent position will be located in Umeå, Sweden.
Applicants should have a strong research record in ecology with a focus on terrestrial ecosystems or organisms, and have a documented experience of developing research programs. Previous research focused on biodiversity, ecological processes, conservation, or evolution is advantageous.
Applicants must demonstrate both scientific and pedagogical skills. Scientific proficiency is demonstrated through independent research at an international level, the ability to plan and lead research, the ability to competitively obtain external research funding, and the ability to communicate research. Pedagogical proficiency is demonstrated by documented experiences in planning, implementation, examination, and evaluation of teaching within ecology and related fields. Documented experience of teaching and supervision at both graduate and undergraduate levels is required. The ability to teach in Swedish or English is a requirement.

- A written statement describing scientific achievements;
- A written statement describing pedagogical achievements;
- A written statement about experiences with developing and leading activities and staff;
- A written statement about collaborations with society and popular science activities;
- A plan for future research within the offered position (six pages maximum);
- Verified copies of relevant documents that support the applicant’s qualifications and achievements;
- A list and copies of no more than ten scientific publications relevant for the position (numbered according to the publication list); and
- Contact information for two references.
