The University of North Carolina Wilmington invites applications for a postdoctoral researcher in ice and climate physics. This fixed-term, two-year position, with potential for extension based on performance and available funding, will be located in Wilmington, North Carolina.

Applicants should have a PhD in physical oceanography, ocean science, climate science, applied mathematics, glaciology, or a related field. Strong mathematical skills and experience with climate or ice models is desirable.

Successful applicants will be involved in research projects related, but not limited, to recent sea ice changes, the decay and climate impact of icebergs, ice-ocean interactions, and calving at tidewater glaciers and ice shelves. The research will make use of mathematical and physical analyses of idealized models of the atmosphere-ocean-ice system and more comprehensive climate or ice models, as well as drawing on observations.

Applications must include a curriculum vitae, contact information for three references, and a brief description of research interests. Applications should be emailed to Till Wagner (wagnert [at] uncw.edu).

Applications will be reviewed until the position is filled.
