The UVArctic CoLab at the University of Virginia invites applications for a research associate to collaborate with our interdisciplinary team on research, development, and in-situ testing and application of exterior and interior environmental sensing systems in the Arctic. This fixed-term, one-year position, with potential for a second year, will be located in Charlottesville, Virginia.

The successful candidate will contribute technical expertise to a team of leading researchers in Arctic science, engineering, art, and design. The research associate must have technical skills in environmental sensor development and application (e.g., design and fabrication, data logging, and telemetry). The information collected in the environmental sensing effort will directly facilitate research for several lines of inquiry within the Arctic CoLab that are focused on understanding the complex interactions and transformations underway in the built and natural environment.

Candidates must have a PhD in one of the many fields related to the Arctic CoLab.

Applications must include a curriculum vitae, a cover letter, contact information (name, email, phone number) for three references, and a statement of research interest.
