The Actic Domain Awareness Center (ADAC) announces the release of a Request For Proposals (RFP) and the associated Fall 2017 Arctic Incidents of National Significance (Arctic IoNS) Workshop Rapporteurs Report.

This RFP seeks solutions to support the U.S. Coast Guard (USCG) in addressing an Arctic maritime oil spill. This RFP is a result of the previous workshop titled Coping with the Unthinkable, an Arctic Maritime Oil Spill, held in Anchorage, Alaska in October 2017.

The goal of the RFP is to address the range of shortfalls or gaps in research, knowledge and/or existing capabilities in responding to an Arctic maritime oil spill. ADAC primarily seeks proposals that can transition from research to providing solutions and needed capabilities for the USCG and other Department of Homeland Security Arctic maritime operators.

The report comes from the second Arctic-related Incidents of National Significance workshop, (Arctic-related IoNS), hosted by the University of Alaska Anchorage and jointly conducted by ADAC and the University of New Hampshire Center for Spills and Environmental Hazards. This Arctic IoNS workshop assembled a multi-disciplined team of experts who reviewed relevant baselines of applied research along with existing logistics and response capabilities associated with an Arctic maritime oil spill. The workshop sought to discern needed capability and technology research questions addressing shortfalls for an Arctic maritime oil spill.

Proposals must be submitted in a single PDF (electronic format) to ADAC to uaa.adac [at] alaska.edu.

If application via email is not feasible, send the application via postal or commercial mail to:
