Organizers invite applications for a National Science Foundation-funded workshop on the application of SmallSat and commercial imagery to Arctic science. This workshop, hosted by the Polar Geophysical Center, will take place 21-22 March 2018 at the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

The goal of this workshop is to bring scientists and experts together to discuss the new era of Arctic science enabled by the availability of high-resolution commercial satellite imagery. Participants will address questions that help drive new science and satellite collection strategies to report in a long-term science community-driven plan.

Applications must include a one- to two-page document with the applicant's contact information and describing the new Arctic science enabled by commercial and SmallSat imagery. A shapefile or KMZ file describing the geographic extent of the requirement and the optimal times for collection can be included in the application.

Travel support is available for approximately 20 participants. Graduate students and early-career investigators are encouraged to apply.
