Organizers announce registration availability for the 2nd conference on
Time Series Analysis, which will be held from 8-11 November 2016 in
Tromso, Norway. The focus of the conference is time serious analysis on
the implication of climate change on the environment,including land,
sea, and atmosphere.

The purpose of this event is to gather scientists from a large range of
disciplines in Earth Sciences based on regular and constant in-situ
measurements, and provide a discussion forum in the field of time series
analysis and forecasting. The presentations will show how observations
can help detecting climate change and its impacts focusing on both the
mathematical modelling, statistics, signal processing (non-stationarity,
gaps in series, extremes, etc.), and the environmental scientific
results. This conference is part of a series of conferences gathering a
wide community to be integrated in the ESONET-Vi (-the vision)
consortium.

Based on in-situ and remote data analysis and modelling, this conference
will gather senior and young researchers (post-doctoral, doctoral and
master students) to share their experience in time series interpretation
across several scientific fields. A 2-day training session will be
organized and followed by a conference part during the two following
days. This event will promote the transfer of knowledge to younger or
less experienced scientists and between researchers from several
research fields. Both training courses and scientific talks will be
mainly based on application examples and case studies.

Organizers announce a call for abstracts for a conference entitled
"International Conference on Arctic Science: Bringing Knowledge to
Action," organized by the Arctic Monitoring and Assessment Program
(AMAP). The conference will be held from 24-27 April 2017 in Reston,
Virginia.

This conference builds on a previous conference from 2011 entitled
"Arctic Messenger of Change Conference." The 2017 conference will
provide updated scientific, decision-making, and policy-relevant
information across a broad array of different Arctic issues and related
scientific disciplines.

The topics that will be addressed are:
-The Arctic Cryosphere;
-Pollution in the Arctic;
-Human Health Aspects of Pollution and Climate Change;
-Global and Arctic Systems Feedback Mechanisms;
-Resilience within Arctic Ecosystems;
-Science and Plicy Making; and
-Socio-Economic Drivers and Impacts of Arctic Change.

Interested participants are invited to submit abstracts on research and
findings relevant to the topics identified above including reports from
observational, process-based research, and experimental and modeling
studies or past, present, and future change in the Arctic.

To submit an abstract for either an oral or poster presentation (550

    International Marine Conservation Congress Focus

Organizers of session "FG34: Understanding Alaskan Inuit Food Security
and Conservation Through Use" invite interested participants to register
for the International Marine Conservation Congress, which will take
place 29 July-04 August 2016 in St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador,
Canada.

Session FG34 is a focus group which will share the main concepts of
conservation through use and the importance of applying a food security
lens to management within the Arctic. The group will also highlight the
complexities changes associated with climate change are bringing, and
how Inuit knowledge and experience may help address management
challenges in sharing this information, concepts, and value system we
hope to open up a dialogue with the audience. The conversation will
focus on bridging value systems.

Following the the workshop, the group will draft a white paper to
reflect the conversation held during the workshop. This white paper will
be shared with all within the conservation community and the Arctic
Council working group.

Registration Deadline: 30 July 2016.
