Asiaq announces a position opening for a Hydrologist with a focus on
Arctic Hydrology. The position is for a term of three years and is based
in Nuuk, Greenland. The expected start date of the position is 1 August
2016.

The successful candidate will assess water resources for hydro power and
water supply, as well as develop the knowledge about arctic hydrology
through research projects with international partners. The tasks include
collection and quality check of hydrological data, data analysis,
modelling, and dissemination of results.

The successful candidate will also develop and expand projects within
hydrology in collaboration with Asiaq'a graduates, technicians, external
customers, and collaborators. This position will also be a part of the
Hydrology and Climate group which currently includes nine dedicated
colleagues.

The position is based in Nuuk, Greenland but during the summer months
will include field work to other locations around Greenland. The
applicant must be in good health and be prepared for wilderness stays
for short periods of time.

The ideal candidate will have a master’s degree and work experience
within hydrology, preferable in the Arctic. The candidate should have
knowledge and experience with ground based measurements as well as data
handling and analysis. Experience with the WISKI database, modelling and
GIS will be an advantage.
