Organizers announce a workshop entitled "Next generation methods and
techniques to address global change problems" and associated student
awards. The workshop, organized by the Climate Change Science Institute
(CCSI) and the Environmental Sciences Division at the Oak Ridge National
Laboratory, will be held 8:00-11:30 a.m. on Sunday, 10 August 2014
during the Ecological Society of America (ESA) Annual Meeting 10-15
August 2014 in Sacramento, California.

The workshop will bring together a representative group of researchers
to stimulate discussions on techniques and methods used in global change
research and envision emerging novel research approaches. The workshop
is limited to 30 participants. Participants must register for the
workshop while registering for the ESA meetings. There is an additional
fee for the workshop.

To encourage student participation, CCSI is sponsoring two fellowships
for undergraduate and graduate students attending U.S. universities and
presenting their research in the ESM meeting.

Award application deadline: 5:00 p.m. (EDT) on Monday, 30 June 2014.

Science Conference, which will be held 25-28 August 2014 in conjunction
with the XXXIII Scientific Committee on Antarctic Research (SCAR)
Biennial Meetings 23 August-3 September 2014 in Auckland, New Zealand.

EXTENDED early bird registration deadline: Monday, 19 May 2014.
