Researchers planning to include a support letter and estimate for
logistics support from CH2M HILL Polar Services (CPS) in their proposals
under the current National Science Foundation (NSF) Arctic Research
Opportunities Program Announcement are asked to provide CPS with a
detailed support request by no later than Friday, 1 November 2013. Early
submissions are strongly encouraged.

As described in the section entitled 'Proposals Involving Arctic Field
Work' (under 'Proposal Preparation Instructions'), NSF will consider the
full cost of supporting a project, including logistics, prior to making
recommendations. To access the solicitation, search for document number
'13-592' at: http://www.nsf.gov/publications/ods/.

Though CPS usually needs between four and six weeks to develop an
estimate, due to the timing of the current ARO solicitation and
deadline, the Thanksgiving holiday, and the anticipated high volume of
estimates, CPS will need five to seven weeks this year, depending on the
complexity of the proposed fieldwork. CPS will be unable to fulfill
proposal estimate requests received after Friday, 1 November 2013 for
the Arctic solicitation.

Please note the NSF deadline for proposals to the Arctic Research
Opportunities Program Announcement: Friday, 6 December 2013.

Researchers should submit field plans and support requirements to CPS
Science Planning Manager Naomi Whitty at: planning [at] polarfield.com.

As the logistics contractor for NSF, CPS annually provides
transportation, communications, infrastructure, and field camp support
to over 150 projects throughout the Arctic and near-Arctic.
