A draft of the Prospectus for Research on the Human Dimensions of the
Arctic System (HARC) is now available for review and comment. When
completed, the prospectus will be submitted to the National Science
Foundation Arctic
System Science (ARCSS) Program for consideration. The prospectus is now
tentatively titled 'People and the Arctic: A Prospectus for Research on the
Human Dimensions of the Arctic System.'
The draft prospectus is available in pdf format on the Internet at the
address http://arcus.polarnet.com/HARC. Reviewer instructions also can
be found at that site. Should you encounter problems downloading the
prospectus or prefer that we mail you a hardcopy, please contact ARCUS at
the address below. The deadline for review comments is Tuesday, 18 February
1997.
Please send your review comments to ARCUS by e-mail, fax, or snail mail,
no later than Tuesday, 18 February 1997. ARCUS' contact information is
listed below. We would also appreciate recommendations (and suggestions
about where we
can find them) for maps, photos, and figures for the prospectus.
