To: Arctic Researchers Interested in Undergraduate Education
Several months ago ARCUS posted a reviewer application form for researchers
interested in becoming reviewers for the Teacher Enhancement, Instructional
Materials Development, or Informal Science Education programs at the
Education and Human Resources Directorate of the National Science
Foundation. This recruitment was so successful we have been asked to
repeat it for the NSF EHR Division of Undergraduate Education.
One of the goals in the (U.S.) National Science Strategic Plan (1995) is
the integration of research and education. Many arctic researchers are
interested in participating in education programs funded by NSF such as the
Division of Undergraduate Education.
One way for arctic researchers to become more involved in education and to
gain understanding about what makes a good education project is to review
education proposals. If you want to volunteer as a reviewer for
undergraduate education proposals, please fill out the Education Proposal
Reviewer Information Form on the Internet at
http://arcus.polarnet.com/Education/Undergraduate_rev_form.html. Return it
to via email to the address at the bottom of the form or send it to Joseph
Pellicia, National Science Foundation, Division of Undergraduate Education,
Education and Human Resources Directorate, Rm. 835, 4201 Wilson Blvd.,
Arlington, VA 22230. Send a CV by regular mail. If selected as a reviewer,
you will be contacted by that program.
