Dear Colleague,

The United States and Japan are establishing a new International Arctic
Research Center (IARC) to be housed at the University of Alaska
Fairbanks. Arctic researchers from anywhere in the United States and
from the international community are encouraged to participate in the
IARC's activities. A program of IARC Affiliates is being designed to
facilitate this participation. When the details have been worked out a
detailed description will be posted. In the mean time, the Draft
Science Plan for the IARC has been posted on the web at
http://www-cgc.uafadm.alaska.edu/iarc.

Comments criticisms and suggestions are welcome and should be sent to me
at g.brass [at] arctic.gov. It is the intent of the organizers that
participation in the IARC's activities should be community wide. Your
input is important. Send it in now.

Cheers, Garry Brass,
