Dear ArcticInfo Subscriber:

We have very recently received a few reports of damaged or incomplete
messages coming from the ArcticInfo mailing list. Several subscribers
have brought to our attention messages with oddly truncated paragraphs
and missing information, particularly in the AGU Reception Announcement
sent on 4 November 1997. Other subscribers have reported problems
printing ArcticInfo messages or have been told the messages were
damaged. (If you are receiving incomplete information, the complete
archive of ArcticInfo messages can be found on ARCUS' Web site at:
http://arcus.polarnet.com/ArcticInfo/

We are not sure yet where the problem lies--within our mail server, a
particular email client or clients, or one of the intervening internet
servers the messages are passing through. If you are experiencing
problems with Arctic Info messages, we would like to hear about them.
Information on what type of computer and what email client software
(Eudora, Pegasus Mail, Pine, etc.) you are using would be helpful. You
may also send us copies (by email or fax) of any damaged or truncated
messages you have received from us.

We are working to resolve this problem. Sometimes the only way we can
find out about such problems is from community feedback; we appreciate
hearing from you. Your response may help us to find a pattern that will
lead to the cause. We apologize for the inconvenience in the meantime.
