Alaska Clean Seas (ACS) will be hosting an internationally sponsored
workshop focusing on the environmental, logistical and operational
issues associated with oil spill prevention and response in ice prone
environments. The workshop is funded by a group of 15 international
sponsors from industry, government and the non-governmental sector. We
feel this is an excellent opportunity for learning and information
exchange within an international community of common interest.

Workshop Goals

The primary goals of the Workshop are as follows:

  • Provide an international forum for presentation and discussion of key
    environmental, operational and logistical topics associated with the risk
    of oil spills from oil exploration and development projects in ice prone
    environments.

  • Facilitate practical field demonstrations associated with arctic oil
    spill response and the Workshop Key Topics.

  • Deliver state of the art information on a variety of oil and ice related
    topics to an international audience.

  • Guide future research and development programs toward areas of common
    interest.
