Dear Colleagues,

The journal "Arctic Research of the United States" plans a special issue
for Spring 2001 devoted to Arctic health. This is an invitation for
authors to report the results of research projects funded by the Federal
government. Articles should be designed for a general, non-specialized
audience. Manuscripts will go through an editorial process but not peer
review. The journal is published by the National Science Foundation on
behalf of the Interagency Arctic Research Policy Committee (IARPC).

Final manuscripts for the special issue should be received by the
editorial staff by August 1, 2000. A proposed title and brief abstract
should be sent no later than March 1, 2000. If you have received federal
support for health-related Arctic research and would like to contribute to
the "Arctic Research of the United States", please contact:
