Lecturer in Soil Carbon Dynamics
Department of Plant and Soil Science
University of Aberdeen

£18,731 - £30,967 per annum

CLOSING DATE IS: 15 September 2000

The Department of Plant and Soil Science wishes to appoint a researcher
with expertise in the chemistry and dynamics of organic carbon in soil.
The Department has an international reputation for interdisciplinary
research into soil-plant-microbe interactions, and this strategic
appointment will complement existing research. Expertise in any of the
following would be of particular interest: molecular analysis of organic
nutrient utilisation by soil organisms, rhizosphere C-flow, signalling
in the rhizosphere, transformation of organic pollutants, interactions
between soil organic matter and pollutants, the use of stable isotopes
to characterise soil organic matter dynamics, modeling carbon dynamics
in the soil-plant-microbe system. The successful candidate will have a
well-developed research profile, with a track record of publication in
refereed journals.

A more senior position may be available for a suitably qualified
candidate.
