Proceedings of the Human Role in Reindeer/Caribou Systems Workshop,
10-14 February 1999, Rovaniemi, Finland are Available

Sixteen papers from the workshop of this IASC group have been published
as a special issue of Polar Research (2000, vol. 19, no. 1), the
international peer-reviewed journal of the Norwegian Polar Institute.
Held in Rovaniemi, Finland in February 1999, the workshop drew together
scientists and Rangifer users from around the Arctic. The articles in
the special issue concern such topics as the extent to which
reindeer/caribou are disturbed by human activities, how indigenous
reindeer users in Russia are faring, and directions of future research.
