Faculty Position Available in Environmental Chemistry

Review of applications will begin on 17 November 2000 and the search
will continue until the position is filled.

The Environmental Science Department at Barnard College, Columbia
University, in collaboration with the Chemistry Department, invites
applications for a full-time, tenure-track position, rank open. We seek
candidates with specialization in environmental organic or analytical
chemistry, or organic geochemistry.

Teaching responsibilities involve lectures and laboratories, including
either organic chemistry or analytical chemistry and environmental
measurements. Applicants should demonstrate commitments to undergraduate
teaching, establishment of a research program with a strong experimental
component, and direction of student research. Barnard is an independent
undergraduate college for women affiliated with Columbia University.
Opportunities are available for collaborative teaching and research with
Columbia University's Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences, as
well as its Earth Institute, Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory and
Environmental Molecular Sciences Institute.

Ph.D. required; postdoctoral research and prior teaching experience
