The Geophysical Institute at the University of Alaska Fairbanks invites
applications for a Research Associate/Post Doctoral Fellow position in
Atmospheric Sciences.

Research focus of this position include high-latitude applications of
the PSU/NCAR MM5 model, model development, and arctic mesoscale
processes. Candidates should have research experience in mesoscale
modeling as well as experience with Unix systems, Fortran, and C
programming. Qualified candidates must have a Ph.D. in atmospheric
science, oceanography, or physics at the time of the appointment. This
position is term-funded for a one-year period with the possibility of
extensions based on funding.

For purposes of collective bargaining, the Research Associate is
represented by a union and will be obligated to pay to the union an
agency fee as a condition of employment. The Post Doc position will be
represented by a union and be required to pay agency fees after the
first year.

This position will be open until filled and salary will depend on
experience.
