Dear Colleague:

ARCUS is pleased to announce the publication of "Arctic Forum 2000," the
proceedings from the Arctic Forum held in Washington, D.C. on 17-18 May
2000. The Arctic Forum is sponsored by ARCUS, with partial funding from
the National Science Foundation, and is held in conjunction with the
ARCUS Annual Meeting in the Washington, D.C. area each year.

To receive this and future volumes of the Arctic Forum abstracts,
subscribe on-line at http://www.arcus.org/Arctic_Forum/subscribe.html.
You also may request copies of the Arctic Forum 2000 from the ARCUS
office at 907/474-1600 or arcus [at] arcus.org. This and other volumes of the
Arctic Forum abstracts, as well as other ARCUS publications, are
available as downloadable PDF files from the ARCUS web site at
http://www.arcus.org/Publications/index.html.

The Arctic Forum brings together researchers, National Science
Foundation officials, representatives from other agencies, policy and
decision makers, educators, and students in one of few interdisciplinary
meetings focused on the Arctic. The Forum includes paper and poster
sessions on a diverse array of topics in arctic science. Winners of the
annual ARCUS Award for Arctic Research Excellence, a student paper
competition, have the opportunity to give presentations and accept their
awards. ARCUS began hosting the Arctic Forum in 1994. Abstracts from the
Forum were first published in 1998 and will continue to be published
annually.

The 2001 Arctic Forum will be held 24-25 May 2001 at the Sheraton
Crystal City Hotel, Arlington, Virginia, in conjunction with the ARCUS
13th Annual Meeting. Information about the annual meeting and the Arctic
Forum, including on-line registration and abstract submission forms, is
available on the ARCUS web site http://www.arcus.org. We welcome your
participation in this and future sessions of the Arctic Forum.

Sincerely,

Wendy K. Warnick
