This is a full-time, career position, open to all qualified applicants.

MAJOR DUTIES
Serves as a Fish and Wildlife Biologist with the Ecological Services
office in Fairbanks, Alaska. Responsibilities include:
- Reviewing proposed resource development projects in Interior and
Northern Alaska to determine individual and cumulative impacts on fish
and wildlife resources, and providing recommendations for mitigating
those impacts;
- Assisting endangered species biologists in the implementation of
recovery actions for listed species, and conducting endangered species
consultations;
- Planning and conducting field studies aimed at identifying and
quantifying development impacts, and evaluating mitigation;
- Writing objective reports of field investigations, recommendations for
resource protection and enhancement, and other correspondence; and
- Providing guidance and assistance to other agencies and the general
public on methods to minimize the impacts of development activities on
fish and wildlife.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
Duties involve both office and outdoor work. The office is located in
Fairbanks, which is the primary duty station. Fieldwork may be conducted
in remote settings anywhere in Interior and Northern Alaska.
