The Arctic Research Consortium of the U.S., Inc. (ARCUS), a nonprofit
consortium of 41 universities concerned with arctic research and
education has the following two positions available. Both positions are
located in Fairbanks, Alaska.


POSITION #1: PROJECT MANAGER

CLOSING DATE: 12 October 2001, 5:00 p.m. (ADT)

This position provides professional project management to the programs
of ARCUS and reports to the Executive Director.

We are looking for a new team member skilled in project planning and
development, technical and scientific writing and editing, and
publication layout and design, with specific experience facilitating
groups and committee process. Responsibilities include coordinating and
facilitating the arctic research community's planning process for
several existing arctic science programs; participation in the
development of new projects; workshop planning; and coordination of all
aspects of report publication.

POSITION #2: WEB DEVELOPER

CLOSING DATE: 12 October 2001, 5:00 p.m. (ADT)

This position provides web site design and management and technical
expertise to the programs of ARCUS and reports to the Executive
Director.

We are looking for a team member skilled in web site design and
programming to develop and maintain our arctic science Internet
resources, including creation and manipulation of graphics, on-line
database management, and writing and editing page content. We have a
large and complex web site that serves as an information resource and a
portal for the international arctic research community. We are seeking
an experienced webmaster to research and implement long-term solutions
to expand our technological capability. Skills in relational database
design are a plus.
