NPS Shared Beringian Heritage Program (SBHP) Funding Announcement

The National Park Service (NPS) is seeking project ideas for funding
under its Shared Beringian Heritage Program. Projects should study or
report on the cultural and natural landscape of the central Beringia
region of western Alaska and eastern Chukotka.

Funding is directly available only for American organizations,
excluding other federal agencies.

Calendar for FY 2002 Beringia Project Proposals:

1 November 2001 - Distribution of Beringia Project application
announcement.
21 December 2001 - CLOSE OF BUSINESS DEADLINE - SUBMIT
PROPOSALS TO NPS.
11 January 2002 - Technical analysis by NPS completed.
1 February 2002 - Beringia Panel prioritizes FY 2001 projects.
15 February 2002 - NPS responds to Panel's recommendations.
22 February 2002 - NPS notifies all applicants of project selection.
26 April 2002 - Selected projects submitted for contracting approval.
