UNEP/GRID-Arendal is searching for a new Polar Programme Manager as the
current polar program manager will take on new responsibilities.

GRID-Arendal is seeking a Programme Manager to take the lead in further
developing GRID-Arendal as UNEP's key Polar centre for assessment and
early warning.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the preparation of the
Polar input to UNEP's Global reports, represent UNEP in the Polar
regions, and develop and maintain a programme portfolio of environmental
information-related projects together with colleagues, relevant
partners, and end-users that will increase the awareness of the Polar
regions among policy and decision makers regionally, as well as
globally. Key stakeholders are the Arctic Council, Arctic
Parliamentarians, Arctic Indigenous Peoples, and the Arctic
Environmental Research community. The Polar Regions Manager will be a
member of GRID-Arendal's Management Team, and will also work closely
with UNEP Headquarters in Nairobi as well as UNEP's Regional Office in
Geneva.

The Polar Manager will be based in Arendal, Norway, and report directly
to the Managing Director. The position will involve some international
travel.
