The abstract deadline for the 2002 AAAS 53rd Arctic Science Conference
has been extended to Wednesday, 7 August.

The conference will be held 18-21 September in Fairbanks, Alaska. For

may do so until 7 August. Sigma Xi Undergraduate Poster Award candidates

The theme of the 53rd Arctic Science Conference is Connectivities and
Interrelationships between Northern Ecosystems and Interactions at their
Boundaries. The Plenary Session will focus on interdisciplinary analysis
of the numerous connectivities that ultimately lead to improved regional
and large-scale assessments of ecosystem stability and critical
processes responsible for environmental change. Technical sessions will
focus on scientific, socio-economic and policy issues in northern
regions.
