Idaho State University
Pond Student Union, Salmon River Suite
November 1-2, 2002

The 10th Arctic Conference is traditionally a data sharing and ideas
meeting where mostly archaeologists, but also anthropologists,
ecologists, geologists, and others get together to share information. It
is VERY informal.

A block of rooms have been reserved at the Econolodge across the street
from ISU, which is 5 minutes from the conference venue. Please make your
reservations early (about $45.00 per night). 835 S. 5th, 208-233-0451.
Mention that it is the ISU Arctic Conference for the better rate.

We will have all of the artifacts from the western Alaska Peninsula
Project, including the materials from Hot Springs recently returned from
Japan, available for study both before and after the conference.

The early list of participants includes students from ISU and U. of
Washington, as well as J. Jordan, D. Dumond, Bill and Karen Workman, B.
Fitzhugh, O. Mason and others. It should be fun.

Dr. Anna Kerttula, the new Program Chair at Arctic Social Sciences of
NSF, is intending to attend as well (schedule permitting).

Registration will be at the door. $20 for employed, $10 for students.
Please pass this note to others who might be interested. Deadline for
abstracts is October 1, but please let me know if you are coming before
that date.
