Please be informed that the abstract deadline to the International
Conference on Arctic-Alpine Ecosystems and People in a Changing
Environment is delayed to 1 November 2002. More that 100 scientists have
so far registered their interest in the meeting, and there is still room
for more presentations. Please visit the conference website for more
information about the program and online registration:

Travel grants for keynote speakers and young scientists (less than 35
years old) will be established. Travel grants for Russian colleagues
will also be sought. Scientific papers will be invited for peer-review
publications in "Polar Research" and "Arctic, Antarctic and Alpine
Research".
