Job Summary: Serves as Manager of the Alaska SAR Facility (ASF) Science
Center. Implements policies and procedures, oversees product quality
issues, user community interaction, user tools and advanced algorithm
development, outreach activities; and forecasts research trends and
directions. The Science Center Manager is directly responsible for
managing administrative and technical staff, as well as, for interacting
with the User Working Group to ensure that ASF meets user needs. Serves
as principle spokes-person for the science operations of ASF to the user
community, Geophysical Institute, University of Alaska Fairbanks, and
the public.

Qualifications: Ph.D. in science, engineering or software related field
is preferred. Must understand scientific research, as well as the
operational needs to support a large user community. Complex
scientific/technical project leadership and management experience.
Knowledge of SAR, SAR processing hardware and software, NASA Distributed
Active Archive Center requirements and user community product needs.
Must possess sound business practices and human resource skills.
Experience in preparing government proposals, contract management and
contract negotiating skills.
