The Foundation for Glacier and Environmental Research seeks a Director
responsible for management and program development for its unique 57
year-old, multi-disciplinary field sciences training program, focused on
earth systems, environmental science and global change. Extensive
facilities are available on the Juneau Icefield, Alaska and in northern
British Columbia. Cooperative projects are being developed in Patagonia,
Nepal and Asia. The Director will coordinate and maintain liaison with
the academic community, and help broaden and intensify the quality of
program plans. An advanced degree (preferably a Ph.D.), with experience
in research and teaching of earth systems science is required. This is
a great opportunity for an energetic, enthusiastic, motivated and
visionary individual to lead and expand a vital non-profit organization
and to make an impact on the regional, national and international
geosciences educational community.

The program is headquartered in Juneau, Alaska.
