Job Summary: Serves as Manager of the Alaska SAR Facility (ASF)
Engineering Center. Implements policies and procedures, oversees vendor
and partner contracts, the development process from requirements to
design, installations, testing and sustaining; and is directly
responsible for creating and maintaining the systems needed to conduct
ASF's normal business processes. Manages administrative and technical
staff, interacting with user working groups as well as the Science and
Operations Centers to ensure that ASF meets the current and projected
future needs of its users.
Qualifications: Bachelors degree in science, engineering or software
related field is required (Masters degree preferred). Must have
scientific/engineering technical training and experience to be capable
of leading a highly technical project. Knowledge of SAR, SAR processing
hardware and software, NASA Distributed Active Archive Center
requirements and user community product needs, how to design, develop
and maintain high-volume, large-scale systems capable of working in an
operational environment. Must possess sound business practices and
human resource skills. U.S. citizenship is required.
Standard Background Check: This position will require access to
machines processing sensitive data. Employees will be required to apply
for a National Agency Check (NAC), which may include fingerprinting, as
required by ASF's funding agency
