The notice below includes important information about the registration
deadline, student scholarship availability, and poster abstract
submission.
REGISTRATION DEADLINE: Registration fees are now due to ARCUS by Tuesday,
30 September 2003. The early registration fee for the SEARCH Open Science
Meeting is $210 (USD). After 30 September 2003, the late registration
fee will be $250 (USD).

The registration deadline was extended in consideration of recent
additions to the SEARCH Open Science Meeting program, including
1. several meetings that will be held in conjunction with the OSM:

STUDENT SCHOLARSHIPS AVAILABLE: Limited travel scholarships are
available to encourage the involvement of young investigators in the
SEARCH Open Science Meeting (OSM). Decisions about scholarship awards
will be based on a combination of merit and need, and will be made on a
first-come, first-served basis.
To apply for a student scholarship, students or their advisors must fill
out and submit the application form at

There is no deadline for submission; sooner is better than later, however,
because funds are limited and travel arrangements should be made soon.
Students receiving scholarships to attend the SEARCH OSM will be
expected to:
1. Present a poster at the meeting; or
2. Participate in one of the following:
a. Assist the organizers and sessions chairs; or
b. Help to organize a special student session during the meeting.
Support offered will range from waiving the registration fee to
providing some support for travel or lodging during the meeting.
