The Norwegian Institute for Air Research (NILU) is an independent
research institute, established in 1969. The institute conducts
environmental research on all aspects of airborne pollution, atmospheric
transport, transformation, and deposition. NILU is also involved in the
assessment of the effects of pollution on ecosystems, human health, and
materials. A main priority for NILU is to provide scientific facts on
the quantitative relationships between these factors, and at the same
time make the results available in a user friendly manner for
decision-makers. NILU has a coordinating role in many international
projects.

POSITION DESCRIPTION
NILU has a vacancy for an experienced scientist in the field of
photochemical oxidants, aerosol research, or inorganic chemistry. The
position is associated with our responsibilities as the chemical
coordinating center of EMEP (http://www.emep.int), and with other
related research activities at the institute.

QUALIFICATIONS
We primarily seek a person with a relevant doctorate in atmospheric
science and at least 5 years of research experience. We are particularly
interested in candidates experienced in data evaluation and
interpretation using chemistry transport models.

Since the tasks require extensive collaboration with external as well as
internal contacts, we seek candidates with good communication skills and
the ability to work as part of a team. Abilities and interest in project
acquisition are also required. NILU offers considerable flexibility for
the right candidate and the person employed is expected to take a lead
role in our scientific development.
