POSITION DESCRIPTION
The National Snow and Ice Data Center seeks one full-time scientific
programmer or two half-time scientific programmers at the Cooperative
Institute for Research in Environmental Sciences (CIRES) in Boulder, CO.

Duties include translating scientific research algorithms into working
programs, developing quality assurance procedures for data sets, and
preparing documentation describing design and use of the programs.

QUALIFICATIONS
Candidates must have at least a Bachelors degree, preferably in
atmospheric science or geoscience; experience working with large data
sets, programming in FORTRAN and IDL, and scripting in Perl in a Unix
environment; experience writing in html; and excellent written and oral
communication skills.

POSITION SPECIFICS
The successful candidate will be eligible for a benefits package,
