You are cordially invited to attend the 4th Workshop on Remote Sensing
of Land Ice and Snow of the European Association of Remote Sensing
Laboratories (EARSeL). The workshop will be held at the Department of
Geography, University of Bern, Switzerland, from 21-23 February 2005.

The theme of the 2005 workshop is "Remote Sensing of Snow and Glaciers -
Important Water Resources of the Future." Presentations are encouraged
on all fields of environmental research with the focus on snow and ice
as water resources, methods for retrieving cryospheric parameters from
various types of remote sensing data, theoretical basis of inversion
methods and their application, state of the art retrieval algorithms,
data assimilation of remote sensing data and in situ observations in
process models, and current and planned sensors for snow and ice. The
workshop also offers the possibility for sessions covering preparations
of and results from field campaigns in mountainous and polar regions.

Papers will be presented orally and by poster. Authors who prefer a
poster presentation should notify the organizers. An abstract of
approximately 500 words should be forwarded, preferably by email, to:
