SESSION DESCRIPTION
A growing number of high-resolution marine records in the North Pacific,
Bering Sea, Sea of Okhotsk, and the Chukchi Seas highlight recent
interest in past climate dynamics across this region of the Northern
Hemisphere. Numerous terrestrial records, especially long lake records
from the Eastern continent (like Baikal) and Northwestern North America,
especially Alaska, are also emerging providing the impetus for new
efforts to gauge the terrestrial and marine response of this region to
global change on millennial timescales. This session will be aimed at
new and emerging records that contribute to an evaluation of
ocean-atmosphere-land interactions and possible teleconnections between
events in the Pacific vs. Atlantic and also linkages between the
tropical and the higher latitudes. Records of interest should include at
least the last glacial/interglacial cycle.
