NSF's Office of Polar Programs (OPP) seeks candidates for the position
of Associate Program Manager in the Arctic System Science Program.

The associate Program Manager's primary responsibilities include
proposal evaluation, project development and support, program planning,
and related administrative duties as well as representing the program at
national and international meetings and assisting with
cross-disciplinary efforts in the Foundation. Frequent travel may be

Appointment to this position may be on a one or two year Visiting
Scientist appointment or a Federal Temporary appointment, with a salary
range of USD $72,108 to $113,597. Alternatively, positions may be filled
under the terms of the Intergovernmental Personnel Act (IPA).

Applicants must possess a Ph.D. or equivalent experience in biological
or chemical oceanography, atmospheric science, terrestrial or marine
ecology, biogeochemistry, geology, geophysics or related disciplines
plus four or more years of successful research, research administration,
and/or managerial experience. An understanding of global change
processes in the Arctic is preferred. Interest in applying
natural/physical science results to problems of societal relevance in
the Arctic is very desirable.
