Long-term studies of the population dynamics Atlantic puffins (Fratercula arctica) including annual monitoring of breeding numbers, reproduction, survival rates and food choice, and their interactions with forage fish (in particular herring), commercial fisheries and ocean climate. Also long experience from issues related to oil pollution and environment, including the development of a generalized impact model for EIA’s and vulnerability index for marine birds. Co-leader of the Norwegian Monitoring Programme for Seabirds and the Norwegian Seabird Database and Mapping Programme.
